Firefighters prepare for fire season with training

Local firefighters showed up from all over the county Saturday morning to make a three-mile trek in the blustery snow, wearing 40-pound vests in the required time of just over 46 minutes at Log Hill Mesa’s 7,800 feet of elevation. Log Hill Volunteer Fire Department hosted the pack test and wildfire refresher course.
Firefighters also participated in an annually required wildland fire refresher course.
