Ridgway master plan one step closer to completion

After a community meeting at the 4-H Event Center on Feb. 27, Ridgway’s master plan revision project is about two-thirds complete. At the meeting, community members were able to review the plan’s process, as well as provide input on how it’s progressing.
The community, led by master plan steering committee members, rotated through stations focusing on the different aspects of the plan revision, which began last spring. Pam Foyster is a steering committee member who was present at the meeting and was pleased to see an engaged community.
“They see themselves as the community and identify with this community, which makes it unique,” she said. “Being on the steering committee is an opportunity do the work and express how I feel about Ridgway.”
The information gathered at the meeting’s stations is being reviewed by project consultants Clarion Associates in Denver. Darcie White, Clarion director, said the meeting confirmed that the draft master plan is going in a direction the community desires.
"The meeting really confirmed a lot of the near-term priorities that had been identified previously," she said. "I don't think there's anything so far that's turned up that's a big surprise that might change the course of the project."
