Johnnie Ross Lowe, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston, Texas. Johnnie was born on December 23, 1934 and graduated from San Jacinto high school in 1953 and the University of Houston in 1958. He married the love of his life, Wilma Lowe on June 7, 1956. They were happily married for 63 years. Johnnie and Wilma had 4 children; Mark, Nancy, David and Sherri and they moved to Manvel, Texas in 1959.
Johnnie began his career in insurance and in 1972 he started his real estate company, Manvel Realty. He left his mark on the city of Manvel by developing 12 residential subdivisions which created hundreds of homesites for families and developed many buildings and building sites that allowed small business owners to share his passion for entrepreneurship.
Johnnie had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling all over the world with his friends and family to fish and hunt. Of all the places he had seen, his favorite was always his second home in Ridgway, Colorado surrounded by the San Juan mountains. Johnnie’s devotion to Christ was displayed in his love for God’s creatures, His people and his relentless faith to “dream the impossible dream.” His legacy lives on in the lives of his wife, four children, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Thursday February 7, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 (281) 992-7200. The celebration of Johnnie’s life will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sagemont Worship Center, 11300 S. Sam Houston Pkwy E., Houston, Texas 77089 with Pastor John Morgan officiating.
