Planning commission approves Iuppenlatz’ bed and breakfast project

Another bed and breakfast is on its way to development in the Ouray area after a recommendation for approval for a special use permit by the Ouray County Planning Commission the evening of Tuesday, Dec. 12. The OCPC meeting was the first after a hiatus due to lack of members and the creation of questions regarding high alpine residential development regulations by the Board of County Commissioners.
The bed and breakfast, planned for a 10.31 acre parcel known as Lake Claim #2181, at about 11,190 feet in elevation, will be owned and operated by Lake Cabin, LLC. The plan calls for a 33-foot tall, 2,349 square foot structure with four bedrooms. The owners predict the structure could accommodate a maximum of 10 to 12 guests. The property would be accessed directly off County Road 31 south of Ouray.
