River district proposal not ready for introduction

The Uncompahgre River Overlay District saga continued at the regular town council meeting Wednesday, Nov. 8, but in a calmer manner than more recent sessions. Still some time away from the official public hearing process, council took further comment from the public, including a suggestion from two attorneys that may help solve dilemmas for smaller parcels in the UROD.
Following a work session mid-October, town staff was directed to compile all the comments from both public and council and return to this month’s regular meeting with another draft ordinance for introduction. This isn’t the first time the draft has been deemed ready for introduction by council, but like its other appearances, it failed to reach the next stage of adoption.
