Another vacancy was created at the Ouray County Planning Commission with the recent resignation of April Orgren. This brings the vacancy count up to two for the planning commission, the other position having been formerly filled by John Baskfield.
The OCPC will be further short-handed, as member Chris Carr recently submitted a leave of absence request with the Board of County Commissioners. The request was granted at the BOCC meeting Aug. 22, which leaves remaining members Randy Parker, Sheelagh Williams, Craig Jackman and Patsy Miller to tackle the controversial topic of high alpine development regulations. Section 24 was recently sent back to the OCPC to fine-tune its stance on yurts and building square footage.
