 Dog ordinance to be introduced in April

Continuing the months-long saga of a dog ordinance discussion, the Ridgway Town Council was presented with four options to consider for inclusion in an ordinance planned to be introduced at the April council meeting. The options, crafted by a group of community members involved with the dog discussion, were featured at the town council meeting Wednesday, March 8.
The community group, which met about three times since the January council meeting, created three mandatory leash boundary town maps to be considered by council. The first is the least restrictive option, with most of the historic residential and business zones of town designated as leash mandatory. The first option also includes the entirety of Solar Ranches and considers the northern portion of Historic Residential, but leaves the athletic fields a leash-free zone.
