Bob M. Daniels
January 31, 1952 ~ June 23, 2016
Long-time resident and friend of many, Bob Daniels passed away peacefully at his home in Ridgway on June 23. His daughter Christy Michelle Daniels was at his side.
Bob came to the Ridgway area in 1974 to work as a miner at the Idarado Mine, and then other mines between Ouray and Silverton. In 1978, his interests changed to carpentry where he eventually created Bob Daniels Construction, building multiple homes in the Ridgway, Ouray, and Telluride areas.
Bob’s favorite past time was riding around the back roads, scoping out wildlife. He was an avid deer and elk hunter – his prize possession was an 8-point bull elk in 1979.
In June 1975, he married Susie Daniels, and became stepfather to Cory and Deana. He and Susie then had two daughters, Jody and Christy Michelle. His wife Susie preceded him in death in 1994.
Bob is survived by daughters Jody Daniels of Swoyersville, PA; Christy Daniels of Montrose; step daughter Deana Vessels of Grand Jct., and step son Cory Ditman of Atlanta, GA. Bob has six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Bob is also survived by sister Betty Purcell, and brothers Nolan and Thomas Daniels, all of Idaho. He is preceded in death by sisters Donna and June, all of Idaho, as well as his parents Nolan and Mary Donna Daniels of Mackay, Idaho.
A memorial/celebration of life will be held at a later date.
