Arthur L. Jones (Art) passed away early the morning of April 11, 2015 in his home west of Norwood, Colorado with his wife Beverly Walker, and daughters Lancy Falk and Callie Jones by his side following a brief battle with cancer.
Art was born to Joseph W. Jones and Lila A. (Pratt) Jones on May 4, 1942 in Boulder, CO where he later learned he had a knack for painting cars and became an accomplished restorer/painter while working for Arnold Bros. Ford and later McCadden Cadillac.  The family always joked that everything he did was a “great work of Art” as he was a perfectionist in everything he made, fixed, or modified with his skilled hands despite being nearly blind in one eye.  He was also an exceptional mechanic thanks to the gift his father shared with him and could fix almost anything from tractors and balers, to semi-trucks and lawn mowers. He had a curiosity for how things functioned.  Just ask his typing teacher in high school who had to fail him for tearing the type writer apart, more interested in the mechanics of the machine, rather than learning how to type.  He never did learn how to type!
His passion for harvesting hay took him to Walden, CO, where he started a custom haying business that eventually turned into a full scale operation that led to leasing hay ground from local ranchers.  Eventually he went back to his roots and started “Art’s Paint Shop”, in 1991, and later added “Park Storage” in Walden, CO, which he retired from four short years ago.   Upon retiring he and Bev moved to Norwood, CO to enjoy life on a 70 acre property with a majestic view and milder climate.
Art was a very generous man, and helped many along the way without expecting much more than a thank you in return.  Whether it was a broken down traveler, or someone down on their luck, Art could usually find a way to brighten their day and help them back on their feet.
He is survived by his wife Beverly, two daughters, Lancy & Callie, two older sisters, Ardie Jones, Anita (Jones) Dones and younger brother Del Jones.  Per his wishes, no services will be held.  Family and friends will gather at a later date to celebrate his life.
