TOWN OF RIDGWAY Marijuana cultivation licensing

In response to growing demand, the Ridgway Town Council voted Wednesday night to permit up to six marijuana cultivation facilities, with a maximum of 3,600 plants per facility, in the town's commercial and industrial zones.

Mayor John Clark said, "I think the reason we need to be doing this is because everything about this whole endeavor is so untested, so unknown, that I think it would be irresponsible to just say 'alright' we're covered by our existing regulations."
Clark also noted the need to balance that concern with unintended consequences from additional regulations.
