OURAY COUNTY: Cedar Hill Cemetery manages to make ends meet on a tight budget

Since the 1800s, the Cedar Hill Cemetery has been the site where Ouray residents and their loved ones were laid to rest. Over the years, however, the cemetery has been met with struggle after struggle, and in most cases the hardships could be narrowed down to one thing: money.

The Cedar Hill Cemetery District has a very small budget yet over the years it has endured.
In comparison to last year’s budget, Cedar Hill Cemetery board treasurer Laurie Bunten noted, funding for the cemetery is expected to be slightly lower this year.
