What does an Outage Cost You?
This past Saturday there was an Internet Outage for Ouraynet Wireless customers and CenturyLink DSL customers in Ouray.  If you had Verizon you did not get hit.  But it brings up an interesting question that we would like to hear from all of you.  Regardless of whether it is a data outage or power outage how much money do you estimate you lose during those times.  SMPA has had multiple brown outs in the last month and cost us a bunch of customers and lots of dead UPS’s  so we are losing income and the money to re-invest in protecting our equipment.  When there is a data outage we lose customers.  For many of you processing credit cards is critical to your cash flow.  If your data connection is down you can’t process cards.  So what is the cost of an outage?   We want to know and so does the State.  So please email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
