No one really thought the little airplane buzzing around south of Ridgway was from the Air Force, but lately everyone questions any disruption from the sky. After two calls to the Plaindealer office on Nov. 22 asking about the plane, we decided to investigate. It wasn't a pilot training for the mountainous terrain of Afghanistan. Olathe Spray Service, Inc., was conducting an aerial grass reseeding project on private land for the National Resources Conservation Service. The Air Force's low altitude training program, the subject of recent regional meetings, has not started. Public comments to the finding of no significant impact are still being analyzed for a determination whether a complete environmental analysis will be conducted.
