The City of Ouray is reminding everyone to be on their best bear behavior. Best practices include garbage management, harvesting fruit trees and not using meat-based food in bird feeders. According to City Administrator Patrick Rondinelli, Colorado Parks and Wildlife did catch and relocate one bear last week. The Ouray Police Department estimates that there are as many as five other bears still coming into town. One of these bears has apparently been shot and wounded, so it would pay to be especially cautious. “We are working with CPW to find a solution,” Rondinelli stated.
