Padgett, who has served on the Board of County Commissioners for four years, said her energies in her second term will focus on the county budget, county services, land use code, water resources and economic development.
During the campaign, Flowers credited his ranching background with giving him the ability to solve problems on his own. Flowers said he believes in private property rights and few regulations, winning him support among ranchers and farmers.
Padgett also courted the ranching population, although not exclusively so, stating that she respects ranchers as the first environmentalists and resource managers in the county. Padgett supports mining in the hardrock mining district. She has worked as a geologist, hydrologist and natural resources consultant.
Padgett graciously accepted her re-election with the following statement, "Thank you. I am honored to serve a second term.
