A new, simplified points system that weighs heavily on blending, visibility and distance to homes in the county's visual impact view corridors has found shared support from the Board of Ouray County Commissioners.

County land use staff presented the new points system and the current Section 9 Land Use code draft during a BOCC work session on July 23.
The new draft has significant changes from the version of Section 9 reviewed by the BOCC and rejected in a public hearing last fall. That version had made it through a public hearing by the Ouray County Planning Commission after two years of work.
