Fuming about smoky skies

Dear Editor,
On this beautiful spring day I have received no less than six texts and
emails from WENS alerting us about numerous ditches being burned. I know
that I am not alone in saying I look forward to spring but what I do not
welcome is everyone burning scrap piles and ditches. I grew up on a farm
and never did we nor our neighbors find the need to burn ditches every
spring.
I urge our neighbors in Ouray and other Colorado counties to consider
other options if they feel they must clear their ditches. I hope that you
can sympathize the right to breathe clean air is more important than this
spring event, especially if you are an allergy sufferer, young or elderly.
Thanks so much for giving it some thought.
